Dr Be Pannell is a leadership development coach, educator and academic, specialising in assisting leaders to understand and navigate complexity in the workplace and educational settings. At the core of Be’s approach to coaching is the belief that human intelligence can be developed to better understand and negotiate future work environments that include big data, increased social networking and the impact of artificial intelligence. The role of a developmental coach is to utilise evidence based methodologies that systematically address transformation at an individual, group and organisational level.
Be worked as a National Sales Support Manager and Sales Executive in telecommunications, before moving into adult development, psychotherapy and education, where she has been working in private practice, supervising and teaching at University level for 13 years. She is an adjunct research fellow at Victoria University Melbourne, where her academic work investigates the development of complexity thinking in coaching and education, and her doctoral research on different modes of adult cognition was awarded the University medal for an outstanding thesis.
Be holds a PhD in Education from La Trobe University, a Grad Cert in Tertiary Education, and a BA in philosophy and psychology from Monash University.
